^^ Health and Safety of Staff and Children (EOV)
Thursday, March 6
Good Physical and mental health is a measure of quality in early childhood education programs – not only of the children enrolled, but just as importantly, those who care for, teach and nurture them each day. The Level II program will assist providers in creating a safe and healthy environment for both staff and children in childcare settings. We will explore common problems for staff such as: infectious diseases, musculoskeletal injuries, falls, toxic materials and stress. Also covered will be issues impacting children including sick child policies, immunization records and reportable illnesses. By sharing questions and best practices we will learn how to implement best practices in home and center settings. Promotion of staff health and physical wellness will also be discussed.
